Overheard

So, one of the Baron Benefits is definitely listening to the chit chat in the coffee queue! Saturday was NO exception, and made me think that I need to have a “Chirp of the day” post after every event. You see, for those of you who haven’t frequented our place of business cum passion yet, I ask, why on earth not? But I digress……. You see, when we are preparing your beverage of choice, we actually face away from you – so, this gives the impression that we are oblivious of what you are doing / talking about / / /………..

So, the Chirp in question…. Two of my beautiful customers, standing, waiting for their order of two Chococcino’s made with white chocolate (an order reserved for especially gorgeous ladies) and two Americano’s for their husbands, were chatting, as gorgeous ladies do….. the conv went something like this.

Gorgeousness number one : “That husband of mine – cant even sugar up his own coffee – he is SO lazy!”

Gorgeousness number two : “You married IT”

Gorgeousness number one : “True”

Baron : “That will be R 50 thanks ladies”

Gorgeousness’ in unison : “We love you Baron”

Here endeth the first “Chirp of the day”

The Layoff

Sometimes, even Barons have lapses in judgement, albeit small ones. This Baron decided to take a couple of weeks off from the coffee scene, to focus on his building alterations to his house. Suffice to say – a valuable lesson was learnt! I learnt that I am a Coffee Baron, and NOT a building one…….. Some sayings spring to mind, like stick to your knitting and stuff…

Anyway – I miss the coffee vibe, so,,,,,,,, in two days, we shall be out and about again! Watch this space for updates. I am sure, with the weather such as it is (chilly, for my International readers) that we will be so busy that there will be no time for pics.

Wish me luck as you wave me goodbye,,,,,,,,,

So,,,,,, one of my favourite venues for the disbursement of my delicious, stupendous, and mindblowingly delicious coffees, is the dam, while watching and mingling with the super sophisticated rowing fraternity… Just because, they my kinda mensch*, you know! Anyway – what could be better than having your loyal subjects coming to you, with a backdrop such as this one?

*mensch – “someone to admire and emulate, someone of noble character. The key to being “a real mensch” is nothing less than character, rectitude, dignity, a sense of what is right, responsible, decorous

So, I have been promising pictures of our events to date – here are some of the ones from the Festival!

This is why I love the coffee mornings

And, of course, we only have THE most fab customers at our coffee shop – have a look!
